69 camaro

69 camaro black webSome of you may remember us in the early days with the injected smallblock Torana up against the guys in wildbunch with the supercharged big blocks.  We were all so young then with some big dreams…

Our plans were to step it up with the big boys but as what happens with most people, plans need to be put on hold and priorities take over with family and business.  We managed to keep our finger on the pulse over the years getting involved and assisting with numerous other recordholding cars, biding our time until we could step it up.

It was a hard slog during the winter of 2008 getting the chassis built, the chassis was put onto its wheels in early December 2008.  With most of the drive train componentary in by September 2009 off the chassis and body went on the back of a trailer to Dean and Darren Riches at Weltec’s panel and paint shop.  This is where the sows ear turned into a silk purse.  What an amazing job Darren Riches (with the assistance of Rex Margetts) did, followed up by the professional paint job by Dean Riches and his enthusiastic students at Weltec.

The pristinely prepared and painted rs 69 camaro was returned to us mid-October and from there it was all hands on deck to put her back together for our first run on 15 November 2009.

The rs 69 camaro would not be completed to the quality it is without the tremendous support the following people have given us:

  • Simon and Lynene Ingle and family
  • Joel Arcus
